So…New Year and new goals and whatnot.  Last year I gained a really unnecessary amount of weight due to a combination of things.  With the end of the holiday season and the start of the new year I decided that I really need to get my butt in gear and get back into the gym.  As you can see from the photo above, this is clearly something that needs to be done; look at those chipmunk cheeks!

Since it’s the new year our gym is doing a bunch of training promotions.  While at the gym on Sunday afternoon Brad and I decided to talk to them to find out more.  I was thinking maybe like 3 sessions with a trainer just to get a little bit of guidance and motivation.  Well…we ended up walking out as participants of a 6 month HIIT program! Oh dear!

So…every week for the next 6 months we will be going to a private session with a personal trainer and four days of hour-long HIIT small group training classes.  In addition to all of that I will continue doing Pilates equipment sessions on Saturdays.  Doesn’t that all sound like fun!?

I definitely am going to get my butt kicked and in gear now (possibly kicked into gear…).

We went to our first session last night and it nearly killed me.  Brad worked his butt off but didn’t feel sick so I guess he’s doing better than me!  It’ll be interesting to see how this progresses.

Today was one of our two “rest days”.  Tomorrow we have our first session with a private trainer for our “fitness assessment”.
